in case we don’t know each other already…
i’m angie, a 26 year-old wellness (but more importantly balance) enthusiast living in NYC. you might know me from my instagram, healthfulradiance, where i’ve been posting for over 10 years (excuse me while i pick my jaw up off the floor). what began as my anonymous food diary to hold myself accountable during my eating disorder recovery blossomed into a space that grew with me as i healed.
the community i found online at my darkest point saved my life. now i’m giving back in every way i can. here’s what you’ll find around here…
plenty of good food
what’s the saying? keep your friends close but your enemies closer? i was OBSESSED with food when i was struggling with my ED, mainly because i was so afraid of it. little did i know then just how powerful food can be in nourishing our bodies, minds, and souls. i saved my life through food, and found a deep and beautiful appreciation for it along the way.
having a healthy and balanced relationship with food is something i genuinely wish for everyone. i like to cook, but i love to eat. that said, you’ll see plenty of food around here. nothing fancy or over the top. always approachable, yet never lacking flavor or flair. healthy eating made easy. and always, always served with a side of gratitude and food freedom.
vulnerable chats
while i can only ever speak to my own experience with an eating disorder and subsequent recovery, as humans we’ve all struggled in our own way with body image, food guilt, diet culture pressure… you get the point. around here, i’ll be talking extensively about my past struggles and the hard-fought recovery i endured to reach a place of true health and happiness. my goal? change the narrative the diet culture has written for us and controlled us with for far too long.
we’ll talk plenty about dismantling diet culture, embracing an intuitive eating approach to life, navigating comparison to those around us (when it comes to our appearance and our diets), and plenty more. consider this your safe space for all things healing.
product recommendations and current favorites
we touched on some deep stuff above, but i like to keep things fun and light in between all of the hard (but necessary) convos. i’m just a girl— i love finding new products, clothes, restaurants, fitness studios, and places i adore. as an oldest sister, i live for sharing a good recommendation. “can i have the link for ____?” is one of my favorite questions. expect plenty of health and wellness forward favorites coming your way each week (such as the best at home matcha powder, or which activewear sets are actually worth it). no gatekeeping here!
